Philanthropy for Barts 900

Be part of our vision to transform healthcare and reduce health inequalities

To celebrate 900 years of pioneering medical research and providing world-class care, we have launched this landmark campaign to set out a vision for the future of healthcare.

To achieve this bold vision, we are looking for significant donors to invest in these two projects.

With your support, we will raise over £30million in the next few years to fund two transformative medical projects that will not only benefit patients across East and wider London, but also deliver national and global impact:

  • Investing in enhancing breast cancer care for patients in East London, which will include the development of a dedicated Breast Cancer Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital

These two projects will help transform healthcare in East London, building on existing excellence to provide world-class care for our communities and through increased research capabilities, and they will also make a difference for people around the world.

They have been chosen because they align with the long-term strategic priorities of Barts Health NHS Trust, Queen Mary University of London and us at Barts Charity. These projects are being led by a world-class team of experts.

“Barts has an inspiring tradition of pioneering medical research and giving treatment to those who need it that stretches back 900 years. Our mission today is to build on this tradition and ensure fairer healthcare for all, with a new era of personalised medicine. This has never been more important for our diverse East London communities; we must act now so that all our patients have equal, prompt access to the specific treatments that they need to ensure the best possible care now and in the future"
Professor Charles Knight OBE, Chief Executive, St Bartholomew's Hospital
