Empowering NHS staff

Kurt Geiger is a luxury British footwear and accessories retailer based in London, and since the start of the pandemic they’ve been on a mission to support staff on the frontline. Inspired by the CEO’s niece who is an NHS nurse, the retailer launched the ‘We Are One’ collection which raised £103,871 for NHS Charities Together.

With their new PEOPLE EMPOWERED campaign, Kurt Geiger have released an NHS-dedicated mule and bag. 100% of the profits raised from sales will be donated to NHS Charities Together, which will be split between their members including Barts Charity.

Through our network of Charity Champions, staff from The Royal London, Whipps Cross and Newham hospitals were invited to be pampered for a day as they took part in a photoshoot to model the new heels and bags. They also shared what life has been like on the front line over the last difficult 18 months.

Barts Health staff Catriona, Lizzie, Eva and Lowri joined by nurse Kerry from the Queen Alexandra Hospital and Sian from NHS Charities Together

Showcasing the NHS

Eva Njoroge, a Staff Paediatric Nurse at The Royal London Hospital said:

“The Kurt Geiger day was great. Even though it was out of the ordinary from what I usually do, the team were really friendly, encouraging and supportive. It was a fabulous experience that made us all feel really appreciated. It was a fabulous experience and a diverse way to showcase the different roles within the NHS.”

Lowri Pritchard, Children’s Intensive Care Nurse at The Royal London Hospital added:

“The day with the Kurt Geiger team was fun, I was nervous about the photoshoot but the photographer was amazing at making you feel comfortable! It was lovely meeting so many new people and I can’t wait for the campaign to be launched.”
