Giuseppe's Story
Giuseppe works at Newham Hospital where he is Associate Director of Midwifery and Nursing. Giuseppe is hoping our Christmas Gift Appeal can help end 2020 on a high.
Giuseppe, Associate Director of Midwifery and Nursing at Newham Hospital

Our midwifery and nursing teams have had to work hard to adapt to the new normal this year. But with Christmas just around the corner, Giuseppe is supporting the Christmas Gift Appeal this year to help bring some joy to patients spending Christmas in hospital.

“This year has been a challenge. We have had to make difficult decisions about how we provide some of our services. These changes have affected women who are pregnant, and many were understandably worried about the coronavirus pandemic and how it would impact their pregnancy and care. I am grateful that I work with a superb and supportive team who put women and their families at the centre of what we do. Any changes we made were with the safety of our patients and staff as a priority.

It's really uncertain times at the moment so we don't know what Christmas will be like for our staff and the community

Giuseppe

Associate Director of Midwifery & Nursing

For the majority of people, Christmas is about spending quality time with loved ones and family. Now that visiting is restricted, the need for connection between families and friends is even greater. That’s why giving a patient a present on Christmas Day is such a kind thing to do. It brightens the patient’s day and lets them know they’re thought of.”
