How Special Purpose Funds can help you

Many staff at Barts Health NHS Trust are using Special Purpose Funds (SPFs) up to £5,000 to buy items or fund projects that make a real difference to patients.

Message about COVID-19

The commitment and compassion of everyone across all Trust hospitals involved in the response to the Covid-19 outbreak has been truly incredible and as ever we at Barts Charity are rightly proud to be able to say that we are the dedicated charity for Barts Health NHS Trust.

Our funding priorities for both patient care and staff support are agreed directly with Trust hospitals and Trust management, including over £1 million recognising individual and collective efforts that go above and beyond even the excellent standards of care Barts Health is recognised for.

In addition, and in recognition of tireless efforts in exceptional circumstances, we have agreed with the Trust Executive to make funds available to support morale boosting and wellbeing.

We will be working with a central co-ordinator within each hospital who will help us manage these requests. For further details please contact grants@bartscharity.org.uk

Here are some examples of how staff are using SPFs to buy medical equipment or to fund patient service enhancements:
