Clinical Research Training Fellowships

Our clinical research training fellowships scheme is open to medically qualified trainee doctors who have a valid GMC registration number, and who wish to pursue a career in clinical research.

Scheme A - Pump-priming award

Applicants who have never received any salary support for research, and who wish to collect preliminary data to support an application for a full 3-year fellowship from a major funder should apply for Scheme A. The Charity will pay PhD or MD fees, salary and a £5,000 consumables allowance to successful applicants in the first year. You must apply for external fellowships during this period. If you are unsuccessful in securing external funding, the Charity will pay fees, salary and a £5,000 consumables allowance for your second year.

Your chief supervisor must be based at Barts Health NHS Trust, or Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. You do not need to be an employee of these organisations when you apply but you must be based at one or other when you begin your fellowship.
