Rob Ross completes 2015 year of activity in Santa-style

11 Jan 2016

Rob Ross presented his cheque for £5,196 to Acorn Ward at Whipps Cross Hospital, after completing his 2015 “Year of Activity”.

As he crossed the finish line of the 10K on Sunday 6 December – in full Santa gear – Rob Ross completed his extraordinary “Year of Activity”, raising funds for the Acorn Children’s Ward at Whipps Cross Hospital.

Rob ran, swam, cycled, climbed and conquered muddy obstacles as part of an astonishing 15 activities during 2015, including triathlons, half marathons and 10Ks, as well as organising a video highlighting the work of the ward.

In total, Rob has raised £5,196, with all donations going directly to support the patients and staff on the ward.

Rob has a very personal connection to the ward and to the hospital, having received regular treatment there as a child for severe asthma:

“I have many memories of my time there… however now as a parent it has struck me how unaware I was of the stresses and pains parents must go through seeing their loved ones admitted to hospital. I wanted to give something back and do something positive for the ward.”

We’re extremely grateful to Rob for his amazing efforts in 2015 and wish him well for a – hopefully – more restful 2016!
