Darren tackled his third run for Barts Charity with a 10k at Lee Valley Velopark last week, raising £110 for the Bodley Scott cancer wards at St Bartholomew’s Hospital.

“To run for Barts Charity is a pleasure and this was my best performance since taking up running. My first race was for them and I’ll do it again in an instant,” he said.

Darren’s fundraising efforts are in thanks for the care that his mum, two cousins and friend received at the hospital.

Speaking about the run, Darren added: “Putting on the purple is never an effort – the energy it brings is infectious – I have intentions to run for the charity in the future and will be looking into more events."

He’s now raised over £600 across his events. We’d like to say a huge thank you to Darren for all he’s doing to give back to the hospital that cared for his family and friends.

This kind of support is so important to us in being able to fund projects that make a real difference to patients’ lives in the future.
