Barts Health Heroes Awards 2016

25 Feb 2016

Wed like to say a huge congratulations to all involved at the Barts Health Heroes Awards on 24th February 2016.

The awards highlighted the efforts of all staff – not just the doctors and nurses doing life-saving work day in, day out, but to all those who work to make the hospitals we support as friendly and welcoming as possible – and who often work behind the scenes, including cleaners and porters. A special mention goes to our charity winners who have been so crucial in helping us have the biggest impact on patients’ lives. Roger Tester, Lauren Ball, the Play Team (pictured, right) and Cardiac Team – we’re privileged to have your support, thank you!

Our winners were awarded for their incredible efforts during the past year to raise the profile of Barts Charity and to fundraise for us – all of course for the benefit of their patients.

The awards ceremony is held annually to recognise staff within the hospitals who have been particularly exceptional in their efforts and care and going above and beyond the call of duty.

Everyone who was nominated, commended and who won the awards are true Barts Health Heroes.

As Richard Schilling, Professor of Cardiology at the Barts Heart Centre, said: “great to see all staff being rewarded for dedication to the NHS, cleaners and clinicians alike”.
