Why Support Us?
Barts and The London Charity manages relationships with a number of corporate partners across various sectors. Whatever your business and however you want to engage, our experienced fundraising team can create a bespoke solution to match your interests and meet your needs.
Here are some of the reasons why you may wish to partner with us:
Our Development Managers come from commercial backgrounds and adopt a highly professional approach to corporate fundraising. They are acutely aware of the value of charity partnerships in a commercial context, whether your priorities are to give your business an edge in more competitive times, build employee relations, boost your external reputation or contribute lasting value to the community around you. We speak your language.
Matching your interests
Because we support three major hospitals and a medical school we fund a huge range of projects, including medical equipment, community engagement, research studies and education. Every department is represented from paediatrics, cancer, cardiac, trauma and respiratory, to name but a few. Whatever your interests, we can match them to a specific project.
Impact and measuring results
Because our partners support specific projects and departments it is easy for them to see the impact of their contribution and for the Charity to provide tangible results. We even offer tours of the hospital and medical school so that people can meet the patients and staff who have benefited, find out more about their project and how it has changed people’s lives.
Helping deprived communities
The local patient population is the most diverse in Europe, with wealthy financial districts neighbouring some of the most deprived communities in the UK. For example:
- Tower Hamlets has the highest rate of child poverty in the capital.
- Infant mortality in the local community is 50% greater than the national average.
- There is a high prevalence of TB, HIV, malnutrition, obesity and rickets.
- Victims of violent crime are getting younger with stabbings in schools at playtime.
Your support could help fund innovative projects that aim to address the many social challenges and associated health problems faced by disadvantaged communities in the City and East End.
A local and national asset
Although the majority of patients are from the local community, the hospitals also care for people from across the UK. Around 1 in 3 of the referrals are from Greater London or further afield. For example, children with retinoblastoma (a rare eye cancer) travel from all over the UK as Barts and The London NHS Trust is home to one of only two specialist centres.
100% of all donations support innovation
Thanks to our endowment, all administrative costs are covered – so 100% of every single penny received goes directly to the cause. And because we only fund innovative projects above and beyond standard NHS care, you can be sure that all of the support you give us will make a real difference.
