Our Trustees

Barts Charity is led by an experienced group of trustees – all of whom are committed to ensuring the charity makes a tangible difference to the lives of people living and working in the City of London, the East End and beyond.

Michael Smith, Chairman
Adviser in healthcare strategy, previously Chairman of Nuffield Health; of NHS Trusts and of private healthcare organisations; former Managing Director of BUPA.

Nicholas Woolf, Deputy Chairman
Chartered accountant; chartered tax adviser; former partner at Arthur Andersen, formerly Non-Executive Director of Westminster PCT; Chairman of Princess Alice Hospice, Beating Bowel Cancer and the St John of Jerusalem Eye Hospital Group; Master of the Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers 2009/10.

Nick Anstee
Chartered accountant and former head of the private equity advisory practice at Arthur Andersen; a Senior Director at City law firm SJ Berwin LLP and the Lord Mayor of London 2009/2010.

William Medlicott
Chartered accountant; Finance Director for ITV Broadcasting, part of ITV PLC.

Professor John Monson
Emeritus Professor of Clinical Endocrinology at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry.

Sir Stephen O'Brien, CBE
