Organise your own event

Our fundraisers have come up with some amazingly creative ways of raising money, ranging from selling cupcakes, to lugging a fridge across the country. If you’re planning your own event, please let us know about it, and we’ll do our best to help. We’d love to put your story on this website, too.

  • Here are a few ideas…
  1. Ask your boss to auction off a day's holiday…and watch how quickly your colleagues whip out their wallets.

  2. Make your colleagues tea and coffee for a day – and charge them £1 a cup. We like it with milk and no sugar, please.

  3. Plan a posh dinner party, or a relaxed BBQ, and ask your friends to make a donation to a cause of your choice. Our fundraisers below raised thousands of pounds froma karaoke evening!

  4. Do you have a trademark hairdo or moustache? It could be time to say goodbye to your little friend. Have a whip-round, and if you reach your target, get out the shaving foam…
  5. Don't forget to ask your employer if they operate 'matched giving', so any cash you raise will be doubled.

  • And here are a few help tips to get you started:
  1. Work out a date and timetable for your event

  2. Set a target amount to raise

  3. If necessary, plan a budget

  4. Promote your event through friends and family

  5. Get friends and family involved!

Don't forget to set up a fundraising page through Justgiving or Virgin Money. Or download a sponsorship form here.
