Mont Blanc climb for Barts!

31 Jan 2013

We would like to say a huge congratulations to Seamus Smith who embarked on the challenge of a life time by climbing Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in the Alps. After rigorous training Seamus and his six friends set off to raise money for Help for Heroes and the trauma unit at Bart’s Health NHS Trust. After negotiating rock falls and crevices in often treacherous conditions Seamus and his guide were the only ones to complete the climb when the rest of his team had to turn back. Despite a slow and difficult last stage he eventually arrived at 4,810 metres on the rooftop of Europe to raise an incredible £4,500 for each of his charities.

"I was delighted to have been privileged to summit safely and in the process raise nearly £9,000 for my two, very worthy chosen charities. I’m very grateful to all those who’ve supported my fundraising efforts" - Seamus Smith
